Before you’re pushed

Say less. Listen more.

Debate less. Decide more.

React less. Respond more.

Freeze less. Stretch more.

Panic less. Plan more.

When we plan for multiple futures, we give ourselves the gift of possibility. More often than not, neither the best case nor the worst-case scenario occurs. Real life exists somewhere in the middle. Like Goldilocks. (I never understood the whole porridge thing. Is porridge like oatmeal? Is it entirely different? Do I need a snack?)|

My point is, if you have contingency plans for scenario A, B, and C mapped out in your mind, you free yourself of having to put out fires quite as often. Because you planned for this. You thought about what happened if X or Y.

Mitigate as many risks as you can imagine so that you're rarely caught on your back foot. Plan before you are pushed.
